Walking is how I have spent the majority of my life. When home or abroad it is the activity that grounds me, and where unskillful rumination ceases and breath connecting to body and movement begin. In a busy city weaving in and out of congested sidewalks or in rural lanes surrounded by emptiness and endless horizon, walking is why I travel.

Years ago I started uploading photos to FLICKR to keep them organized (somewhat, let’s say!) and all in one place. The photos get some views here and there but this photo I took in Bali on my first visit in 2010 always gets some love from the community. Seems that other people also find something compelling about this simple act of forward motion.

I will be leading a walk from the shop to one of my favorite spots on Sunday, January 25. If it is too cold we will do a meditation and travel discussion instead but I hope we can dress in lots of layers and go for it! As my grandma used to say, “the cold weather is invigorating!”

Join Suzanne on a Winter Walk

Sunday, February 1

Meet at Esquina 4602 N Western

11am – 2pm

everyone is welcome (kids are free)

Bring your camera, journal, pen, and something to sit on picnic style like a sarong or blanket. If it is warm enough for an outdoor meditation we will take advantage of the sun and sit for a moment at the end of the walk. Otherwise we’ll take the final 30 minutes back at Esquina to sit, center and connect in the warmth of the space.

We’ll share warm drinks after the walk and a short Q&A about walking, travels and how to incorporate more of what we love into our daily routines (even in the winter!) Hope you can join me!
