We’ve proudly given the middle finger to Black Friday once again this year and there will be no “sales” or “special deals” on this day. Instead the Nomadic Ant crew (owners, staff and hopefully all of you) will spend Thursday & Friday in the company of friends and family. We close the shop, our phones will remain turned off, and we intentionally avoid the soul-less corporate marketing campaigns that try to convince us that their products will somehow make us happier and healthier. In the words of Public Enemy, we say, “Don’t believe the hype!” *
*Chuck D has stated that this song was inspired by the works of Noam Chomsky.

We prefer that you join us instead POST Thanksgiving for Small Business Saturday, a day we highlight small, independent, slightly off the mainstream businesses that do things their own way. And, we will also be celebrating the opening of Vintage Botánica, a new shop housed inside of Esquina Chicago featuring artwork, macrame, plants, vintage treasures and goods that are sustainable and eco-friendly. We’d love to hear about what items you’d like to see in the shop in 2020 because we believe it is the voices of the people best represent our community.

We will be serving cocktails + mocktails, there will be vegan snacks for sale from another local small business, Mindful Bakery and we will have some free {WE HEART YOU} goodie bags with all purchases in the shop that day PLUS a raffle for one $50 gift card from Nomadic Ant and one $25 gift card from Vintage Botánica. That’s our THANK YOU to all of YOU for being intentional shoppers who support community-driven shops like ours.
