The weather is finally changing and although I LOVE the warm Chicago summers this cooler air and cleansing rain makes me appreciate the Midwest’s change of seasons This is the time of year when I get inspired to (finally) tackle big projects that have been looming, to get crafty and make more mixtapes, to bake stuff, and to spend more time with friends. Now that fall is near we have been planning more events at Esquina, our space next door to Nomadic Ant. We’ve got some craft nights being planned, a Halloween party/BYOV this month, a JOYBIRD /Minor Moon music party in November, and this Sunday the first ever clothing Swap-O-Rama (thanks to one of the original ants, Ms. Chloe Riley, who hatched the plan).

So tonight as the drizzle forces you indoors, light some sage and candles and put on your favorite music and head to your closet. Grab a few things you have loved but recently tired of, or a few things that you have outgrown or been seen in far too many times and make a little pile to share with other swappers and friends this Sunday. We will start the swap at 11am and probably hang out til 4ish. Please take whatever you don’t swap with you at the end of the day and donate it to your favorite local charity.

BYOB + snacks, etc. Feel free to invite friends.

This is a free event.

In addition to the swap, Nomadic Ant will be selling $5 (small) and $10 (larger) bags for anyone interested in visiting our mini pop-up rack of shoes/clothing/accessories. Just stuff the bag with whatever you can carry out in it!
