Welcome to 2018!  It’s a new year to start doing all those things you’ve always been meaning to do, right? I’ve been attending weekly meditations, started taking an art class, and am writing daily. Oh, and I am making my bed EVERY morning!!! Sometimes the little things make a big difference!

The winter can seem long and dark, but we find that the best way to thwart the January blues is to get busy doing more things that make you feel good. Get out and experience some of the city’s hidden offerings at least once a week: hit up some new restaurants, open mic nights, improv shows. Go explore a new neighborhood, volunteer, get active in your district with the local political scene. Be part of something, however small it may be. Get out and meet new people! Explore your passions more deeply!

We host a BYOVinyl night every last Thursday of the month, and you don’t need to own any vinyl of your own to attend. In fact, we encourage everyone to browse our collection and pick a few records they’d like us to play. We get started at 7pm, and the next three months we are holding the event in our shop like we used to in the early years. (Esquina is being used by Sameena Mustafa from now until the mid-term elections at the end of March. She is running for U.S. Congress in the 5th district. Progressives… you need to check her out!)

Hope to see you all this Thursday!
